Bearcats Wrap Up Home Stand This Weekend

MARYVILLE - (Game Notes) Northwest Missouri State soccer wraps up it's five-game home stand this weekend, playing Missouri Western today at 2 p.m. and No. 6 Central Missouri at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Bearcat Pitch.

Amanda Deml contributed to four goals last week, earning her first MIAA Offensive Player of the Week award. Deml scored twice and assisted on a third against Emporia State on Sept 21 and scored against Wayne (Neb.) State on Sept. 18. She is seventh in career goals (6) and is tied for fifth in career assists (5). Northwest is 2-0 when Deml scores.

Head coach Tracy Hoza is unbeaten against this weekend's teams when playing at Bearcat Pitch. Hoza is 2-0 all-time against Missouri Western and 1-0-3 against Central Missouri at home. She set the school all-time wins mark last weekend against Emporia State in a 3-2 win.

Missouri Western is 2-8 and 1-4 in MIAA play, led by Meigan Soo with four goals off 23 shots. Goalkeeper Shaylynn Milbourn is second in conference saves, averaging 6.67 per game this season. The Griffons have been outscored 17-1 in the past three games in their third season of varsity competition.

Central Missouri is 7-1-1 overall and undefeated in the MIAA at 5-0. The Jennies are enjoying their highest national ranking in school history, sitting sixth. Central Missouri has posted four straight shutouts entering this weekend, and six this season. Lewis Theobald begins his first season with the Jennies, after spending the previous two seasons at Indiana State.
