Bearcats Suffer 2-0 Loss to No. 15 Washburn
MARYVILLE - (Box Score) Northwest Missouri State soccer allowed a goal in each half, falling to No. 15 Washburn 2-0 at Bearcat Pitch this afternoon.
The Bearcats move to 2-6 and 1-3 in MIAA play, while the Lady Blues improve to 5-4-1 and 3-2 in the MIAA.
Keely Lambeth scored late in the 14th minute off an assist from Jessica Mainz, who passed it after Manon Englehardt's shot bounced off the save of goalkeeper Lauren Hodgson.
Mainz scored her 11th goal of the season of an assist from Englehardt in the 86th minute for the Lady Blues.
Northwest outshot Washburn 6-4 in the first half. The Bearcats stayed close in shots on goal, trailing the Lady Blues 7-6 throughout the game.
Amanda Deml led the Bearcats with three shots, moving into eighth in all-time career records with 76. Hodgson made four saves and the team contributed another save.
The Bearcats stay at home for a game on Sept. 28, welcoming Missouri Western for a 2 p.m. game from Bearcat Pitch.
