Bearcat Soccer Returns Home to Face Wayne State Today at 4 p.m.
MARYVILLE - (Game Notes) Northwest Missouri State soccer returns to Bearcat Pitch to start a five-game home stand, opening with Wayne (Neb.) State today at 4 p.m.
Junior Amanda Deml moved into 10th in career shots over the weekend, reaching 60 career shots. She is tied for 10th with four career assists, and needs one more to move into top 10 charts for season assists, recording both Bearcat assists this season.
Freshmen Kelsey Sanders and Hannah Barnett have provided the Bearcat scoring this season. Sanders used her first collegiate goal at home against St. Cloud (Minn.) State on Aug. 31 to tie the game. Barnett followed at Northeastern (Okla.) State on Sept. 9, pushing the Bearcats to a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Northwest has scored at least once in the last eight home nonconference games dating back to Sept. 12, 2004, going 6-2 in that span.
Wayne State is 0-3-2 on the season, playing to 0-0 ties in the past two games. The Wildcats are led by freshman Tiffani Kellerman's 11 shots this season. Wayne State has only managed two goals this season, both coming in a 2-4 loss to South Dakota on Sept. 7.
The home stand continues this weekend, as Northwest prepares for Emporia State on Sept. 21 and Washburn on Sept. 22. Both games begin at 2 p.m. from Bearcat Pitch.
