Bearcats Fall 3-1 to Northeastern State.

TAHLEQUAH, Okla.(Box Score) Hannah Barnett scored her first career goal late in the 44th minute to put the Bearcats up 1-0 at half, but three goals in the second half by the RiverHawks handed Northwest Missouri State soccer a 3-1 loss to Northeastern State today.

Northwest remains winless, dropping to 0-3. Northeastern State picks up its first win of the season, improving to 1-2-1.

In her first career appearance, Barnett scored with 1:06 remaining in the first half on an open net off an assist from Amanda Deml.

It took the RiverHawks only a minute and a half into the second half to even the score, and then another three minutes to take a 2-1 lead, both goals scored by Dani Watson. A goal from Sarah Spencer in the 88th minute sealed a 3-1 victory for Northeastern State.

Deml led Northwest with two shots. Lauren Hodgson tallied five saves while protecting the goal.

The Bearcats begin MIAA play on Sept. 14, traveling to Southwest Baptist for a 4 p.m. match.
