Bearcats Fall 2-0 to Central Missouri on the Road
WARRENSBURG, Mo. - (L 0-2) Northwest Missouri State soccer fell to Central Missouri 2-0 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) action tonight in Warrensburg, Mo. The Bearcats drop to 6-4 on the season and 2-3 in the MIAA, while Central Missouri picked its first win in three matches to improve to 7-2-1, 2-2-1 MIAA.
Sophomore Holly Ramaeker led Northwest with three shots and recorded the team's only shot on goal in the 63rd minute. The Bearcats were out-shot 21-4. Senior goalkeeper Alison Sheridan recorded her second consecutive match with nine saves.
Central Missouri scored in the ninth minute from Angela Dobbie and at 46:05 in the second half from Melanie Hall.
The Bearcats will travel to Kirksville, Mo., on Sat., Sept. 30 for a 12 noon match with No. 24 Truman State.
NOTES: Northwest's 17-shot deficit is the largest since Oct. 6, 2004, when No. 13 Nebraska-Omaha out-shot the Bearcats 4-26 ... Northwest is ranked eighth in the latest NSCAA/adidas Central Region rankings released Sept. 26. Central Missouri is ranked sixth in the same poll ... Two assists from Central Missouri's Hazel Cox are the most by an oppoent athlete this season.
