Northwest Moves to 3-1 in Victory Over Augustana (S.D.)
MARYVILLE, Mo. - (W 1-0) A penalty kick goal in the 54th minute by senior Amy Jackson was enough for Northwest Missouri State to defeat Augustana (S.D.) 1-0 this afternoon. The Bearcats stand 3-1 for the season, their best start in the eight-year history of the program.
Northwest out-shot Augustana 18-3 in the first half and 25-10 throughout the match. The Bearcats recorded the school's ninth highest shot count by the team in match. Senior forward Kayla Griffin led all players with seven shots, moving into 10th on school career shots with 47.
Senior goalkeeper Alison Sheridan recorded her fourth career shutout, moving into second on career charts. Sophomore midfielder Holly Ramaeker led the team with three shots on goal.
Augustana goalkeeper Lisa Jarovski tallied nine saves in the match. Erin Seidel led the Vikings with two shots on goal.
Northwest will end their non-conference schedule on Sat., Sept. 9, hosting Upper Iowa University for a 12:00 p.m. match
