Bearcats Drop Match on Senior Day
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State soccer team was downed this afternoon at Bearcat Pitch by Truman State, 3-1.
Northwest and Truman played to a scoreless first half and over 14 minutes of the second half before the Bulldogs put the first goal away. Truman was able to score again a minute and 50 seconds later, when Robyn Mortenson scored her second of the afternoon.
With just under a minute left in regulation the Bearcats put away their lone goal off the foot of freshman Amanda Deml (Lees Summit, Mo.). The goal for Deml was her second of the season.
Keeper Alison Sheridan (Blue Springs, Mo.) allowed two goals and saved seven in the loss, as she moved to 4-4-3 on the year.
The Bearcats are 4-7-4 overall and 3-5-3 in the MIAA, while Truman goes 8-7-3 overall and 6-3-3 in the conference. Northwest plays its last home match of the year on Tuesday, Nov. 1 against Central Missouri.
