Northwest Falls to Augustana 2-0
SIOUX FALLS, SD.-The Northwest Missouri State soccer team out shot Augustana College, but fell today on the road, 2-0.
The Bearcats were led offensively by sophomore Margaret Trummer (Omaha, Neb.), who had five shots on the day, two of them on goal. Fellow classmate Sarah Hobson (W. Yorkshire, Eng.) had three shots, with one on goal. Senior Katie Flower (Blackjack, Mo.) also was able to off get shots, with four of them and one on goal.
Sophomore Alison Sheridan (Blue Springs, Mo.) started the afternoon between the pipes, but was pulled in favor of freshman Megan Newland (Lee's Summit, Mo.) after giving up one goal in each half. Sheridan also had two saves, on four Augustana shots on goal.
The first Augie goal was scored by Erin Seidel at the 15:56 minute mark and the final goal was put in by Mallory Born at 51:08.
With the loss, Northwest goes to 2-5-3 on the season, while Augustana moves to 2-8-1. The Bearcats will have one more road match on Saturday Oct. 8 against Truman State. Then Northwest will begin its longest home stretch of the year with five matches at Bearcat Pitch on the Oct. 15 against Missouri Southern.
