Northwest Ties Missouri Western 1-1
| St. Joseph, Mo. (stats) - The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats tied this afternoon against Missouri Western 1-1, moving to 1-3-2 in MIAA conference play and 2-4-3 for the year. This was the sixth game this season in which the Bearcats played two overtime periods. Senior Katie Flower (Blackjack, Mo.) scored Northwest's lone goal off a penalty kick at 28:40, about two minutes after Michelle Polk of Missouri Western scored unassisted at 26:45. Goalie Michelle Goold (Independence, Mo.) recorded five saves for the afternoon. The Bearcats will be in action again tomorrow (Oct. 2), as they travel to Augustana (S.D.) for a 3 p.m. non-conference match. Northwest will be at home again on Sat., Oct. 15, as they face off against Missouri Southern State. |
