
Maryville, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State Univeristy women's soccer team played the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist this afternoon and ended in a deafeat 3-0. This leaves the 'Cats with an overall record of 2-3-2 and 1-2-1 in the MIAA.
Southwest Baptist jumped to the lead 1-0 in the 20th minute when Stephanie Lusardi received an assist from Priscilla Duncan to dribble in for a five yard out goal. Lusardi in the 24th minute scored Southwest Baptist's second goal after shooting it into the left corner past Northwest's goalie Michelle Goold.
To end the first half Southwest Baptist's Allison Chapman went five yards out to score their third and last goal of the night in the 36th minute. Amy Swallow assisted Chapman for the goal.
Northwest saw a few scoring chances in the second half by Katie Flower but Southwest Baptist's goal keeper Sara Eppler and the Southwest Baptist defense kept the 'Cats to zero.
Northwest will play at Emporia this weekend, September 24 at 2:00.
