Northwest Falls to Central Missouri 3-1
Warrensburg, Mo. (stats) - The Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats fell to MIAA conference foe Central Missouri State 3-1 on the road Friday night. The loss came after a two-game win streak, when the 'Cats defeated Upper Iowa and Missouri Southern, both matches played at home.
Central scored two goals in a six minute span near the end of the first half, and their third goal at the 80 minute mark. Junior Beth Gutschenritter (Omaha, Neb.) scored Northwest's only goal at the 65th minute. Gutschenritter is also on top of the Northwest career charts for goals scored (17). Goalkeeper Alison Sheridan (Blue Springs, Mo.) ended the night with five saves.
Northwest currently holds a 2-2-2 overall record, with a 1-1-1 record in MIAA play. The Bearcats will be in action at home on September 20, as they take on Southwest Baptist University at 4:00 P.M.
