Soccer Program to Hold Two Summer Camps

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- (registration form) The Northwest Missouri State soccer program will host two summer camps, announced second-year head coach Tracy Cross today. The first is a day skills camp that runs from June 20-24 and is open for boys and girls ages 6-14. The Kansas City Wizards, a Major League Soccer team, will coordinate the Dribble, Pass & Score (DPS) competition, as part of the camp on June 24. The second is a three-day residential skills camp offered for the first time at Northwest. It is geared for high-school aged kids from July 29-31.

The June camp will emphasize all fundamentals of soccer from 1-3:30 p.m. each day. Cost of the camp is $70 with check-in on Monday, June 20 from 8-8:45 a.m. at the Bearcat soccer fields. The Wizards will send representatives to organize the DPS competition on Friday.

Camp II is a new high school individual camp and is open to varsity, junior varsity individuals and teams. Check-in is Friday, July 29 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Bearcat soccer fields. Cost is $120 for resident campers and $85 for commuting campers.

Campers will receive a t-shirt and expert instruction from coach Cross and select Bearcat soccer players.
