The 'Cats Win Last Home Game Against Central Missouri State 5-3
Maryville, Mo. - Norhtwest Missouri State soccer hosted their last home game of the season against Central Missouri State. The 'Cats ended with a 5-3 win making their record 4-16; 4-5 in MIAA.
The 'Cats got off to a quick start with freshman Sarah Hobson's third goal of the season assisted by freshman Magaret Trummer in the third minute of the game.
The Jennies answered back in the 12th minute with a goal from Stephanie Reyes tying the score 1-1. Northwest's Beth Gutschenritter replied in the 33rd minute with her seven goal of the season helping the 'Cats take the lead 2-1.
Once again Central Missouri mirrored the goal with one in the 35th minute by Mallory Milburn tying the game 2-2. The 'Cats fought back by recording three straight goals to make the final score 5-3.
In the 49th minute, Trummer tallied her first goal for Northwest, assisted by Gutschenritter. Senior Heather Kolbo put her second goal of the season on the board in the 52nd minute with an assist from Trummer. Hobson finished the game with a goal to keep the 'Cats ahead in the 61st minute.
Central Missouri snuck its third goal through with 11 seconds left but the Bearcats prevailed in their last home game 5-3.
The 'Cats will finish their season on Nov. 7 at Truman State at noon.
