Bearcats Lose at Missouri-Rolla, 5-0
ROLLA, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State soccer program traveled to Missouri- Rolla this afternoon and dropped a 5-0 decision to the Lady Miners.
Northwest drops its overall record to 2-13 and 1-9 in the MIAA while Missouri-Rolla improves to 3-10-2 overall and 1-7-2 in league play.
The 'Cats had a rough afternoon on the offensive side. They had only five shots on goal with no points to accounted for. Sophomore Michelle Goold took the loss as she allowed four Lady Miners goals in the first half. Freshman Allison Sheridan came in to to relieve Goold in the second half allowing only one goal to be scored.
Missouri-Rolla got off to a quick start with Maggie Thompson scoring in the first 39 seconds of the game off of an assist by Beth Babb. Babb had four of the five assists for the Lady Miners this afternoon helping them to two more goals in the first half. By the end of the first half, the 'Cats were down 0-4. Rolla finished its scoring streak at the beginning of the second half with a goal by Sarah Newman, which was once again assisted by Babb.
The Bearcats will look for a win tomorrow at Southwest Baptist at 11 a.m. Then the 'Cats will return home Oct. 27 matching up with Missouri Southern at 4 p.m.
