The Bearcats Fall to Washburn in Overtime, 3-4
MARYVILLE, Mo - The Northwest Missouri State University's soccer program fell in another conference match up against Washburn University 3-4.
The 'Cats got off to a quick start with Krista Obley's fourth goal of the season in the 10th minute, unassisted. Following Obley's score, sophomore Beth Gutschenritter got her sixth goal of the year coming on her sixth shot of the game. That marker was assisted by senior Heather Kolbo to put Northwest up 2-1.
Sophomore Jamie Campbell ended the 'Cats' goal streak in the 45th minute with an assist from freshman Brittany Cash off of a corner kick. At that point, Northwest led 3-2.
The Ichabods answered back with two straight goals in the 46th and 49th minute tying the score 3-3 (with a goal scored in the first half by Jolene Silovsky). Silovsky earned her second goal in the game's first overtime at the 96th minute mark scoring off of her own corner kick.
The 'Cats next home action is Oct. 27 facing Missouri Southern. Meanwhile Northwest will be traveling to Missouri-Rolla on Oct. 22 and Southwest Baptist on Oct. 23.
