Bearcats Drop Home Match to Emporia State, 2-5
Maryville, Mo - Northwest Missouri State University lost at home this afternoon, Oct. 9, at Bearcat Pitch against Emporia state 2-5.
The 'Cats took an early 2-0 lead off of goals by Sophomore Beth Gutshenritter in the 8th minute of the game and Tracy Sacco in the 34th minute. Gutschenritter's goal came from an assist held by sophomore Tiffany Robertson.
A penalty kick was hit off the goal post then followed up by Sacco's goal.
The Hornets answered back with two back to back goals in the 42nd and 43rd minute to tie up the score 2-2. Emporia's Brandy Booth hit the game winning goal in the 47th minute. Shea Stutler's second goal put the game out of reach for the 'Cats in the 60th minute.
Tomorrow afternoon the 'Cats will play at home against Truman State at 1 pm. Northwest will play once again at home Oct. 15 against Washburn at 4 pm
