The 'Cats Defeated by No. 16 Nebraska-Omaha, 7-1
OMAHA, Neb. - Northwest Missouri State dropped a 1-7 decision to No. 16 Nebraska-Omaha this afternoon. The Mavericks held a 2-0 lead after the first 40 minutes and notched five more after halftime to tally the non-conference win.
Freshman defender Kristina Obley recorded her first goal of the season, the only goal for the Bearcats in the 79th minute of the game.
Northwest was outshot by the Mavericks 26-4 and shots on goal 16-4. Obley had two of the four shots on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Michelle Goold had five saves in her third appearance of the year for the 'Cats.
The Bearcats will move on to two home games this weekend. The 'Cats will play Emporia Oct. 9 at 1 pm. The next match against Truman State is Oct. 10 at the Bearct Pitch at 1pm.
