Bearcats Fall to Nationally Ranked Truman St., 3-0

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State women's soccer team fell to nationally ranked Truman State, 3-0 on Saturday at Kirksville.

In the first half, the Bulldogs were going right at the Bearcats. In the 11th minute Truman put their first goal on the board when Lauren Cepicky placed the ball in the back of the net after receiving a cross. The Bearcats could not put anything together in the first half as they were out-shot 13-0, and gave up 10 corner kicks. As the teams went to half with Truman leading 1-0.

In the second half, Northwest still could not manage to work their way into Bulldog territory. The Bulldogs found the back of the net again in the 68th minute and the 70th minute to take a commanding lead and go on to a 3-0 victory.

In net for Northwest, Alison Sheridan (Fr., Lake Tapawingo, Mo.) recorded nine saves on 12 shots on goal by the Bulldogs. The Bearcats drop to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Northwest will return home this next week for three home matches. On Tuesday they will host non-conference foe Rockhurst. On Saturday, they will play conference foe Missouri-Rolla and Sunday they will play Minnesota-Duluth.
