Soccer Recruits Sign With Bearcats

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University head soccer coach Tracy Cross has announced the signing of four student-athletes to national letters-of-intent. Three of the new Bearcats will be freshmen at Northwest this fall and one is a transfer.

The following is a look at each of the four new student-athletes who will be joining the Bearcats:

Jamie Campbell, 5-8, Midfielder, Freshman
Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland
High School:
Member of the Under-17 Northern Ireland Squad ... Member of the Under-16 Northern Ireland Squad ... Member of the Under-15 Schoolgirls Northern Ireland Squad ... Received "Most Outstanding Player" award at Northeast School of Sport in 1998 ... Top scorer for Gilmour Gals club team in 1999 and 2000.
Coach Cross says: "Jamie's soccer strength is her technical ability. She comes from a solid playing background and her experiences should add to the Bearcat Soccer program."

Katherine Flowers, 5-5, Defender, Junior
Blackjack, Mo.
Previous School:
Earned all-conference and all-region recognition in one season at Florissant Valley Community College.
High School: First-team all-state selection as a senior at Hazelwood Central High School ... Named team captain ... Earned first-team all-conference and all-district honors as a senior ... Named first-team all-conference as a junior ... Four-year varsity letterman.
Coach Cross Says: "Katie will add to the Bearcat defensive play with her excellent skills."

Lindsay Schubert, 5-9, Forward/Midfielder, Freshman
Independence, Mo.
High School:
Led her Fort Osage High School championship team to a conference championship last season ... Named all-district and second-team all-area as a senior ... Scored 12 goals, recorded seven assist last season ... Earned honorable mention all-district and second-team all-conference honors as a sophomore.
Coach Cross Says: "Lindsay has great vision and technical abilities. She enjoys seeking out goal-scoring opportunities."

Ali Sheridan, 5-10, Goalkeeper, Freshman
Lake Tapawingo, Mo.
High School:
Named first-team all-distict last season as a senior for Blue Springs High School ... Started varsity goalkeeper for four consecutive years ... Earned honorable mention all-area honors.
Coach Cross Says: "Ali is a physically strong goalkeeper and is fearless in one-on-one situations."
