Nicholas Peters returns to Northwest Missouri State as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. He will be working primarily with men’s basketball and assisting with all 13 other sports as well.
In addition to his duties with the athletic department, he is an instructor within Northwest Missouri State University’s HPERD department where he teaches the Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries course.
Prior to returning to Northwest, Peters worked as an intern athletic trainer with the Denver Broncos from July 2011-June 2012. While working with the Broncos, he worked with Steve Antonopulos a 37-year veteran with the Denver Broncos athletic training staff.
During his first stint at Northwest, he received his master’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Northwest in April 2010. As a graduate assistant Peters worked baseball, football, track and field and volleyball before moving into a part-time role from 2010 to 2011. As a part-time assistant he was responsible for soccer and the Final Four women’s basketball team.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Fort Hays State in 2008. A native of Goessel, Kan., Peters now resides in Maryville, Mo.
