Patterson earns academic all-district honors

MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State junior tennis player Calvin Patterson has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 At-Large Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A first-team choice, Patterson will be placed on the All-America ballot with the announcement of that team to come June 7. Members of the at-large team include student-athletes from the sports of tennis, swimming and diving, volleyball, wrestling and golf.

Patterson was 26-5 in singles play and 18-9 in doubles for the 18th-ranked Bearcats. He was ranked as high as 53rd nationally in singles and is currently half of the 30th-ranked doubles team. Patterson played number two singles and number one doubles for Northwest, which finished 19-5, won the MIAA title and competed in the NCAA tournament.

In the classroom, Patterson maintains a 3.96 grade point average while working towards a degree in math education.
