Freshman Hans Hach won singles and doubles titles Sunday |

Hach, Abilene Christian sweep ITA regional
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Abilene Christian freshman Hans Hach won the singles title and then teamed with senior Bryan Joiner to take the doubles crown as the Wildcats made a clean sweep of the ITA South Central Regional Championships hosted by Northwest.
Hach and Joiner advance and will join seven other regional winners who will compete for National Small College Championships Oct. 14-17 in Mobile, Ala.
Hach, the seventh seed in the singles draw, defeated top-seeded Malcolm Harrison of Northwest, 6-3, 6-3, in the championship match. Hach fought off five break points before winning it on his first championship point. He didn't lose a set in six singles matches during the tournament and didn't lose more than three games in any set.
Hach earned a half-hour break before competing two hours more for the doubles title. The top seeds, he and Joiner defeated second-seeded Edward Boone and Mick Walter of St. Edward's, 7-6 (12-10), 7-6 (8-6).
The Wildcats fought back from a 4-2 deficit to win set one and held serve during a 10-minute game to force a tie breaker in set two. The match ended on a double fault by Boone.
