Northwest Sweeps Baker, 9-0

BALDWIN CITY, Kan.-Northwest Missouri State earned its second straight 9-0 win after sweeping Baker Wednesday. It's the seventh win in eight matches for the 25th-ranked Bearcats (12-4), who have five 9-0 wins this season.

The closest matches of the day came at No. 2 doubles and No. 1 singles. Calvin Patterson and Tony Adeyemi competed at No. 2 doubles for the first time this season and held off Trevor Hedberg and Keith Pipkin, 8-6. Patterson and Adeyemi are 5-3 as a tandem this season.

Daniel Usieto upheld his No. 39 ranking with a 6-2, 7-6 win against Bozo Zaputovic at No. 1 singles. Felipe Gennari, ranked No. 49, did likewise with a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Hunter Hollarn.

Northwest won all six singles matches in straight sets. The other two doubles matches finished with scores of 8-3 and 8-1.
