
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – No. 31 Northwest Missouri State men’s tennis dropped its opening match of the season, falling 8-1 to No. 5 Drury today. The Bearcats lone win came in No. 1 doubles from Vigit Seghal and Felipe Gennari, who used a 7-5 victory in the tiebreaker to take a 9-8 set from Stefan Borg and Nikola Prpic.
Seghal came the closest to claiming a set in singles action, forcing a tiebreaker with Anton Khadesevich in the first set of No. 2 singles. Khadesevich ended up taking the first set 7-6 in a 7-5 tiebreaker.
Up Next: The men travel to William Jewell tomorrow for a 2 p.m. match. The contest was moved from Northwest to Liberty, Mo., due to weather.
