Acebedo Named ITA North Central Region Men's Senior Player of the Year
SKILLMAN, N.J. - Northwest Missouri State senior tennis student-athlete Pablo Acebedo has been named the North Central Senior Player of the Year announced today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The ITA serves as the governing body of collegiate tennis in the United States whose goal is to improve the level of intercollegiate tennis competition and the quality of college tennis coaching.
Acebedo was a unanimous selection at No. 2 doubles with sophomore Daniel Usieto on the All-MIAA First Team and was a three-time MIAA Athlete of the Week. He also earned Second Team All-MIAA accolades at No. 2 singles. Acebedo ended his career 10th in the all-time doubles wins with 54.
The Bearcats ended the 2007 season today in a 5-0 loss to UC-San Diego in the opening round of the NCAA National Tournament. Northwest finished 15-7 overall.
