
MARYVILLE - (W 8-1) Northwest Missouri State women's tennis swept doubles for the seventh time this season in winning it's fourth straight women's match in a 8-1 victory over Lincoln (Mo.) in the final non-conference match of the season. The Bearcats improve to 10-5 overall.
Sophomores Lina Gomez and Emily Lindsay won their seventh straight match at No. 3 doubles in a 8-0 win over Emina Behlic and Angel Forde. Sophomore Jordan Lipira and freshman Veronica Castilla won their sixth consecutive match in No. 2 doubles over Tamila Bilalova and Sarah Roling 8-0.
Northwest won its five singles matches in two sets, capturing No. 4-6 singles by 6-0, 6-0 margins. Gomez maintained her winning streak at No. 3 singles, defeating Bilalova 6-3, 6-0 for her fourth-straight win at the position.
The women will rejoin the men on April 17, as both teams travel to Kirksville, Mo., for a rescheduled conference match with Truman State. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
NOTES: Northwest has won seven of its last eight matches dating back to March 18 ... The Bearcats improve to 13-6 all-time against Lincoln, winning the past 11 meetings between the two schools dating back to 1991 ... Northwest has won three of the past four matches by 8-1 margins.
