Keith and Lindsay Make First Team Honors for CoSIDA Academic All-District

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State senior student-athletes Zach Keith (Chillicothe, Mo.) and Gena Lindsay (St. Joseph, Mo.) have been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII College Division At-Large First Team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Both Keith and Lindsay were tennis stand-outs and now advance to the national ballot for a chance at the Academic All-America Team. The sports included in "At-Large Teams" are tennis, water polo, swimming, skiing, gymnastics, golf, ice hockey, rifle and field hockey.

Keith was a unanimous selection on the All-MIAA First Team at No. 6 singles after going 11-0 at the final singles flight. He was also announced on the All-MIAA Second Team at the No. 3 doubles slot where he went 11-5 overall. The history and social science education major sat out 2005 after he was a First Teamer at both No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles as a junior in 2004. Keith is a two-time MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll recipient.

A two-time MIAA MVP and MIAA Women's Tennis Sportsmanship Award winner, Lindsay leaves Northwest as one of the most decorated female tennis players. With a 77-26 doubles record, she holds the most career wins in school history. She has won four career MIAA titles (doubles and singles) after earning both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles hardwares in 2006. Holding a 19-1 mark at the top singles position this spring, Lindsay was ranked first in the North Central Region and picked up a unanimous All-MIAA First Team selection at No. 1 singles. She has logged a 80-10 career mark in singles action.

This such award is the first for Keith and Lindsay was on the 2005 All-District First Team and the All-America Third Team.
