Northwest Women's Tennis Remains Perfect
JOPLIN, Mo. - The No. 40 Northwest Missouri State women's tennis team survived a scare from Missouri Southern this afternoon, but pulled out the 5-4 win to remain unbeaten at 8-0.
The Bearcats were only able to pull out one victory in doubles play, as freshman Emily Lindsay (St. Joseph, Mo.) and sophomore Carolina Amaral (Rio De Janerio, Brazil) won 8-4 over Kristen Meschede and Kim McMunn.
In singles play, senior No. 29 Gena Lindsay (St. Joseph, Mo.) won in No. 1 singles over Michelle Hall, 6-2, 6-3. However, after that Missouri Southern was able to win No. 2 and 3 singles. Northwest was able to claim that match when they won in No. 4, 5 and 6 singles.
The Bearcats will now take a couple days off before they hit the court at Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday.
