Northwest Tennis Splits With Southwest Baptist
BOLIVAR, Mo. - The No. 40 Northwest Missouri State men's and women's tennis team's split a double header match yesterday with Southwest Baptist. The women pulled out the 8-1 victory, while the men suffered a 5-4 loss.
In doubles action for the women, senior's Gena Lindsay and Erica Ramirez swept their match 8-0, and junior Amanda Hardie and freshman Jordan Lipira won their match 8-4. The women were able to win all their matches in singles competition.
The men meanwhile lost the first two doubles matches, but were able to pull out the third against SBU. The men also suffered three straight losses in singles, but won the last three yesterday.
The women are back in action today against Missouri Southern, while the men's match against Missouri-St. Louis and Quincy is postponed due to weather. The Northwest men and women will be back in action on March 23 against Nebraska-Kearney. The women move to 7-0, while the men are 4-4.
