Northwest Tennis Beats Emporia
TOPEKA, Kan.-The Northwest Missouri State men's and women's tennis team won a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association match against Emporia State yesterday afternoon.
The match with Emporia had to be moved to Topeka because of unplayable weather outside. However, that did stop Northwest, as the women's tennis team remained undefeated in the spring season with a 6-3 win over the Hornets. The men's team had a much easier time with Emporia State, as they took the Hornets 9-0.
The next action for women's team was scheduled for today, in a couple of nonconference matches against Lincoln and Augustana (S.D.). The men will be back in action tomorrow in a MIAA match against Southwest Baptist. The women will also take part in the match against SBU.
The men are now 4-3 on the year and 1-0 in the MIAA and women move to 6-0 and 2-0 in the conference.
