Lindsay and Ramirez Complete ITA Nationals Play
FT. MYERS - Fla. -- Gena Lindsay (St. Joseph, Mo.) finished seventh today in the singles competition of the 2005 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Small College Championships, presented by the USTA. Lindsay and Erica Ramirez (St. Petersburg, Fla.) finished doubles competition in eighth on Friday evening. The event was hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University.
Lindsay lost to Dasha Segenchuk of East Central (Okla.) on Friday 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 to move to the seventh place match against Kerstin Kloeffer of Kutztown (Pa.). Lindsay defeated Kloeffer by a walkover Saturday morning. In doubles, Lindsay and Ramirez lost Friday afternoon to Leila Salek and Marissa Muchow of Ferris State (Mich.) 4-6, 7-6 (5), (10-5). The duo also fell Friday evening to Inga Chilingaryan and Katie Anderson from California (Pa.) in the seventh-place match 6-2, 1-6, 10-8 to finish eighth overall.

Lindsay and Ramirez are both making their second Nationals appearance with Lindsay taking seventh in singles play last season while the combo took eighth in doubles action.
