Washburn 71, Northwest Missouri State 55
MARYVILLE, Mo.-De'Andre Washington's game-high 16 points led three Washburn players in double figures as the Ichabods picked up their fifth straight win following a 71-55 decision against Northwest Missouri State Wednesday at Bearcat Arena. Jadarren Mumpfield scored 13 points and Brandon Scaife added 10 off Washburn's bench.
The Ichabods (12-5, 9-4 MIAA) scored 12 unanswered points early in the second half to turn a 30-26 halftime lead into a 17-point advantage. Washington and Logan Stutz combined for nine points during the stretch. Stutz, the MIAA's leading scorer, had eight points - his second-lowest total of the season. He got plenty of help from his teammates who combined to shoot 61 percent from the field.
Northwest (4-13, 2-11) got 12 points and six rebounds from Elijah Allen and 10 points from point guard DeShaun Cooper. Shaneel Narayan returned to the court following a two-game hiatus and hit two 3-pointers in 15 minutes of work.
