First-Team, All-Defensive Team Honors to Henry
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State senior forward Hunter Henry (Lenexa, Kan.) has been named a first-team all-MIAA selection and all-Defensive Team selection as voted on by the league's head coaches and released by the conference office Monday.
Henry was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Player following his sophomore season. He was a second-team choice as a junior.
Henry is the fifth Bearcat to be named to the all-defensive team. Northwest has had a selection to the all-defensive team six times in the last seven years.
Henry started all 27 games and averaged 17 points and 8.7 rebounds this season. He shot 54 percent from the floor, had 42 of Northwest's 69 blocks and was second on the team with 45 steals.
Henry led the league in rebounding with 235 overall and 171 in conference play. In MIAA rankings, he was fourth in scoring, second in field goal percentage and blocked shots and tied for seventh in steals.
Henry posted 11 double-doubles and had nine 20-point efforts. He scored a season-high 26 points in games against Pittsburg State and Central Missouri and had a season-best 14 rebounds against Pittsburg State. On the road, Henry averaged 18.2 points and 9.8 rebounds.
