Henry Honored By CoSIDA For Academics

MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State senior forward Hunter Henry has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 7 Men's Basketball Team as voted on by CoSIDA members and announced Thursday.

Henry, a second-team selection, joined Southwest Baptist's Nick Kovacevich as MIAA representatives on the 10-man team. Henry maintains a 3.36 grade point average while majoring in social science education.

Henry leads the MIAA with 8.9 rebounds per game and is fifth in scoring at 16.9 points per game. He also ranks fourth in the league in field goal percentage, is seventh in steals and is second in blocked shots.

Henry has posted 10 double-doubles in 21 games this season for the Bearcats. He's scored a season-high 26 points twice and pulled down a season-high 14 rebounds at Pittsburg State on Dec. 31.

Henry is the sixth all-time leading scorer in program history and the program's fourth-leading rebounder. He needs 11 points to become the second player in school history to record 1,500 points and 750 rebounds.
