Four Reach Double Figures in Rout of Central Bible
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Elijah Allen scored a career-high 17 points to lead 24th-ranked Northwest Missouri State to a 78-38 rout of Central Bible Tuesday at Bearcat Arena. The Bearcats (3-1) shot 58 percent from the floor and forced 27 turnovers to earn their second home win of the season.
Northwest led 20-2 eight minutes into the contest and 42-15 at the half. Allen had 11 first-half points on 5-of-6 shooting. Hunter Henry scored 13 of his 15 points in the opening frame. He added nine rebounds in 16 minutes of work.
The Bearcats scored 22 of the first 24 points in the second half and led 73-19 at one point. Caleb Willis scored 14 of his game-high 19 points in the final seven minutes to pace Central Bible (2-7).
Northwest had 19 assists on 33 field goals and finished with double-digit steals for the third time in four games. Shawn Carter scored in double figures for the third game in a row. He and DaJuan Harris chipped in 11 points each.
Northwest Head Coach Steve Tappmeyer earned career win No. 399. The Bearcats next three games are on the road starting with MIAA play at Emporia State Dec. 3.
