Henry Named MIAA Basketball Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State junior forward Hunter Henry has been named the MIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ended Nov. 25. It's the fifth time Henry has earned the honor in his career.
Henry averaged 16.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in three Northwest victories last week. The fourth-ranked Bearcats beat Tabor at home Tuesday and won two games at the Southern Indiana Thanksgiving Classic during the weekend.
Henry tied his season-high of 24 points in Northwest's 74-66 win at 10th-ranked Southern Indiana Saturday, a team that lost on its home court for the second time in its last 21 home games. Henry was 10-of-11 from the field, including two 3-pointers, and had nine points during an 18-0 run that helped the Bearcats turn a 50-38 deficit into a 56-50 lead.
Henry recorded his 11th career double-double one night prior against Bellarmine, which lost for the first time this season. Henry had 15 points and 10 rebounds in a 67-60 win.
Henry began the week with an 11-point, seven-rebound performance against Tabor. He played 25 minutes in a 97-49 victory.
Northwest next hosts future MIAA member Nebraska-Omaha at 7 p.m. Saturday inside Bearcat Arena.
