Bearcats Hold Free Basketball Clinic This Sunday in Bearcat ArenaMARYVILLE - To promote awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and provide an opportunity to teach area kids basketball techniques and fundamentals, the Northwest Missouri State men's basketball team will host a free clinic on Nov. 11. The clinic will take place in Bearcat Arena beginning at 4 p.m.
The clinic will allow kids to meet Bearcat basketball players and learn playing tips and strategies. Coaches and players will also be available for an autograph session during and after the clinic.
Northwest basketball will also use the clinic to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis. Matt Redd, a Bearcat basketball player from 1996-99 who grew up and still resides in Maryville, and his wife Karen, are battling with their son Grant who has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Any donations and proceeds from the clinic will be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Questions about the clinic can be directed to graduate assistant coach Austin Meyer at (660) 562-1330.
