Hunter Henry Nabs Player of the Week Again
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Henry, a 6-foot-8, 190-pound sophomore from Lenexa, Kan., averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks as his No. 19 Bearcats scored wins over No. 9 Emporia State and previously-unbeaten No. 2 Central Missouri last week.
It is the second time this season Henry has received the Wilson/MIAA Player of the Week. He garnered Co-Player of the Week Jan. 2.
He scored 16 points with nine rebounds in the 63-58 home win over the Hornets Wednesday (Jan. 31), connecting on 7-of-13 shots from the field, including 1-of-3 from the three-point line.
Henry contributed seven points, including the trey which cut the deficit to single digits, as Northwest rallied from 15 down with 13:53 to go to take a 60-55 lead with 1:27 remaining.
In the upset of UCM Saturday (Feb. 3), Henry had 11 points and 10 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season (eighth of his career). His layup with less than 18 minutes left sparked a 16-6 Bearcat run after the Mules had cut the difference to six, 46-40.
Henry is a graduate of Overland Park (Kan.)-Shawnee Mission West High School.
Northwest travels to Truman State on Wednesday, Feb. 7 for a 7:30 tipoff
