Bearcats Ranked No. 13 in Latest NABC Coaches' Poll
| KANSAS CITY -- Northwest Missouri State men's basketball moved up seven spots to No. 13 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) national poll released today. It is the highest regular season ranking since sitting No. 11 near the end of the 2004 season. Northwest is in the poll for the fourth straight week with a 7-1 overall record and 1-0 mark in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). Sophomore forward Hunter Henry leads Bearcats scorers and rebounders, averaging 17.3 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game. The Bearcats went 2-0 last week including a 81-80 victory at Southwest Baptist (Mo.) on Saturday to open up league action. Two other MIAA schools were mentioned in the top-25 poll, with the MIAA preseason favorite University of Central Missouri sitting third and Emporia State listed at No. 22. Defending national champion Winona (Minn.) State remains at the No. 1 spot. The complete poll can be viewed at http://nabc.cstv.com. The Bearcat basketball team will travel to San Antonio, Texas, to participate in the River City Classic next week for the end of their non-conference schedule. Northwest will play No. 21 Metro (Colo.) State on Jan. 19 at 2:30 p.m., followed by Midwestern (Texas) State on Jan. 20 at 12 noon.
