Kyle Garner Leaves Team
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State men's basketball sophomore guard Kyle Garner (Jefferson City, Mo.) has left the team and will transfer to the University of Missouri-Rolla, announced today by the men's basketball program. Garner is a graduate of Jefferson City High School and appeared in four of eight games this season. He averaged 6.5 minutes, 1.5 points and 1.0 assists per game off the bench.
"Kyle did an outstanding job while he was here," said head coach Steve Tappmeyer. "We wish him the best of luck. He has handled this very well as he looks at a different school academically.
Garner has plans to play for Missouri-Rolla this season.
"At this point in my academic career I feel that the University of Missouri-Rolla will better help fulfill both my needs as a student and my goals in the future," said Garner. "I have enjoyed my time at Northwest as it has helped me grow as a student and shape me as a person.
"I would like to thank the coaches and the community for the support that I have received over the past two and a half years and wish the program much success in the future."
