Northwest Defeats Livin' The Dream 91-71
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State men's basketball team held an exhibition game this even at Bearcat Arena against Livin' The Dream. The Bearcats went on to win 91-71, while shooting 16 - of - 25 from behind the arc.
Northwest held on to a 10 point lead at the break 40-30, after shooting 15 - of - 34 from the field. The Bearcats just missed six three point shots in the first stanza as well, going 8 - of - 14.
Individually for the Bearcats in the first half, they were led by senior Addae Houston (Dallas, Tex.) with 11 points. Houston shot 75 percent from the field and also grabbed a defensive rebound.
In the second half, Northwest shot 48 percent from the field and 8 - of - 11 from behind the arc. The Bearcats also had five athletes get into double figures, with Houston and senior Xzavier Gaines (Grandberry,Tex.) leading the way with 17.
Senior Austin Meyer (Blue Springs, Mo.) followed Gaines and Houston with 14 points, while junior Ed Hudson (Miami, Fla.) had 13 and was perfect from the field going four - of - four.
Point guard Mose Howard (Omaha, Neb.) was the final Bearcat to score in double figures with 10 points.
Northwest will now take six days off for finals before they get back into action on Friday, Dec. 16 against Texas A&M-Kingsville in the Classic at Incarnate Word (San Antonio, Tex.). On Saturday, Dec. 17, Northwest will play its final game at the Classic at Incarnate Word against Dallas Christian
