Men's Basketball Wins 73-49 Over Lincoln
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - ( box score) Junior Mose Howard scored 16 points and grabbed a career high five rebounds to lead the Northwest Missouri State men's basketball team over Lincoln (Mo.) University 73-49 Friday night. Senior Austin Meyer took over the top spot in Northwest career three-pointers with 175, displacing Scott Fleming's 173 from 2000-03.
The Bearcats move to 6-1 on the season, while Lincoln falls to 1-6.
Meyer scored 15 points along with four rebounds, while Xzavier Gaines and Brandon Maxie each recorded 15 and 14 points, respectively. Reggie Robinson scored 11 points to round out Northwest players scoring in double figures. Victor James lead the Bearcats in rebounds with seven.
Northwest never trailed throughout the ball game, opening up with an 8-0 run in the first three minutes of play. A 13-0 run midway through the first half gave the Bearcats a 40-21 lead at halftime.
Titus Byrd led Lincoln in scoring with 22 points, the only player for Lincoln in double figures. Taeshaud Jackson recorded ten rebounds to lead all players.
Northwest will next be in action at home in Bearcat Arena on Sunday, Dec. 4 against Northern State (SD). Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
