Parker Named Finalist for Bob Cousy Award

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Northwest Missouri State University's Kelvin Parker (Sr., Raytown, Mo.) has been named as one of 16 finalists for the inaugural Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. The award is sponsored by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, located in Springfield, Mass.

The Bob Cousy Award, which will recognize the best true point guard in all three NCAA Divisions (I, II and III) will be presented at a press conference at the Final Four in San Antonio, Texas on April 5.

"Mr. Cousy has a vision for this award," said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Hall of Fame. "He wants to recognize the vital importance of the point guard position and highlight its crucial role in achieving team success. This award will recognize core basketball skills, such as passing, dribbling and creating team offense in addition to such intangibles as leadership, vision, selflessness and focus."
