Northwest Bearcats

The Green House

Green House

The Green House is the official student cheering section at Northwest Missouri State University. It is the largest and loudest group at Northwest!

Its GOAL is to promote student participation and spirit at home Bearcat Football games. Its MISSION is to promote pride at Bearcat athletics by creating an exciting atmosphere and imposing home field advantage, while reflecting the values of the University. Its PURPOSE is to be loud. A loud student section can influence a game in many ways! Opportunities to join are held during the spring trimester and summer.

Note: You must be currently enrolled at Northwest to participate.

Membership includes:

  • Official Green House t-shirt New each year!
  • Exclusive FREE items
  • Fun with friends
  • Weekly emails
  • Points for attending Bearcat athletic events
  • Participation in game day promotions
  • And more!

Spirit Points System

As a Green House member you can participate in the spirit points system and win great prizes! The system applies to women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, softball and baseball only, and each game is worth one (1) point unless noted otherwise. It was established to encourage attendance at non-revenue sporting events. There will be additional events that will be worth more points!

To earn points, members must attend the events that are designated on the promotions schedule below. To receive credit for attendance at an event, members must sign in and sign out with the marketing interns in designated areas at home events. The more games you attend, the more points you accumulate and the more prizes you win!

T-Shirt Policy

The Green House is a large group of visible, die-hard Bearcat fans that receive the most desired section of seats at athletic events. It is important that the Green House creates an environment that is both loud and a unified "sea of green". To create such an environment, the Green House requires that all members wear their Green House t-shirt while at games (unless you paint your body). Those not wearing the member t-shirt will not be awarded credit for spirit points.

Criteria

  • You must wear your Green House t-shirt for points to count.
  • The only games that you earn points for are games played during the regular season when school is in session. Games played during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring breaks do not count.
  • Any special event that is designated as an event to receive points will be at the discretion of the Athletic Promotions Department (ex. midnight madness).
  • Stand up, make noise, and cheer the Bearcats to victory!
