Lowell and Charteris named to NGCA All-America Scholar Team
MARYVILLE, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State golfers, Cassie Lowell and Steph Charteris, were honored by the National Golf Coaches Association as members of the All-America Scholar Team as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Lowell, who was also the MIAA Golfer of the Year, was named to the All-America Scholar Team for the second time after earning honors as a freshman last season. Lowell was also the MIAA Individual Champion claiming four individual titles during her sophomore campaign giving her seven for her career.
Charteris was named MIAA Freshman of the Year as she also earned All-America Scholar Team accolades for the Bearcats. The Ontario, Canada, native was second for Northwest golfers in scoring average finishing only behind Lowell. She also claimed nine top five finishes and one title in her freshman season.
Each player named to the NGCA All-America Scholar Team must have participated in 66 percent of the team’s rounds and maintained a 3.50 GPA.
