Lowell tabbed as MIAA Player of the Year
MARYVILLE, Mo. – Cassie Lowell added to her trophy collection as the Northwest Missouri State sophomore was named MIAA Player of the Year Wednesday evening as announced by the league office.
Lowell highlighted the All-MIAA Team that included teammate, Steph Charteris. Lowell was the individual medalist capturing the first MIAA Individual Title for the Bearcats in the program’s young history. The Concordia, Kan., native was the top scorer for Northwest with an 81.1 scoring average and won four times.
Charteris finished in the top three at last week’s MIAA Championships and was the second leading scorer for Northwest at 82.0. The Sarnia, Ontario, native recorded 11 top 10 finishes and won once during her freshman season with the Bearcats.
The selections were made by the league's five head coaches, and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.
