Bearcat golfers earn MIAA honors

MARYVILLE, Mo. – On the heels of the program’s best finish at the MIAA Championship this week, the Northwest Missouri State women’s golf team took home MIAA awards for Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Freshman Steph Charteris finished third at the MIAA Championships and was named the conference’s Freshman of the Year. Charteris did not finish outside the top 10 all season which included seven top five finishes and one tournament win out of 11 events.

The Bearcats head coach Pat McLaughlin also took home hardware being named MIAA Coach of the Year as voted on by the league coaches. He helped guide Northwest to five tournament wins during 2011-12 season and a third place finish at the MIAA Championships.
