Bearcats hold seven shot lead after first day
LINCOLN, Neb. - The Northwest Missouri State golfers sit in first place after the first round of the Nebraska-Wesleyan Fall Invitational on Sunday held at the Highlands Golf Club.
The Bearcats coming off their second consecutive first place finish hold seven shot lead over William Penn and sit 18 shots ahead of third place Park University.
Northwest also has three golfers in the top 10 after the first round including Steph Charteris who sits tied for second. Charteris, picked up a second place finish on Saturday, finished with a first round 78 just two shots behind Mel Buxton of Iowa Western Community College.
Tess Edwards finished with an 82 and is now tied for sixth followed by Cassie Lowell in ninth. Lowell, who shot an 83, took home the individual title on Saturday.
Kristina D'Angela rounded out the top four scorers for the Bearcats with an 86.
The final round in Lincoln is a shotgun start at 10 a.m. as golfers will tee off at the Pioneers Golf Course.
