Lowell and Bearcats continue hot start

Lamoni, Iowa - It took a sudden death playoff, but the Northwest Missouri State golfers and Cassie Lowell picked up a team and individual win on Saturday at the Graceland Yellowjacket Invitational.

The Bearcats who grabbed their second consecutive team title after winning last week's William Jewell Invitational finished with a team score of 328 in cold and rainy conditions at the Lamoni Golf and Country Club.

Lowell fired a 77 to force the playoff and put an early end to the suspense with a birdie and the win.

Steph Charteirs continued her hot start with a second place finish as did Jacy Gasper. The two finished with an 82 in the one-day tournament.

Tess Edwards rounded out the Bearcat top four scores with an 87.

Northwest continues a northern road swing at the Nebraska-Wesleyan Invite in Lincoln, Neb. on Sunday and Monday.
