Lowell named All-MIAA, Freshman of the Year
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State freshman golfer Cassie Lowell, who won three tournaments in her first collegiate season, is one of six golfers named to the All-MIAA Women's Golf Team as selected by the league's head coaches. In addition, Lowell was named MIAA Freshman of the Year. She is the first Bearcat to receive either honor.
Lowell was 445-44-6 (.905) in 12 tournaments this season. In addition to her three wins, Lowell placed second twice and was third four times. She averaged a program-record 82.4 strokes per round, or 10-over-par, which ranks sixth in the league.
Lowell's 1-over-par 73 shot during the second round of her first collegiate tournament is also a program record. She shot a 3-over-par 75 in winning the William Jewell Invitational back on April 12.
